UTILITY SCALE: 1.37MW AEC CO-OP COMMUNITY SOLAR

UTILITY SCALE: 1.37MW AEC CO-OP COMMUNITY SOLAR     ARiES partner Appalachian Electric Cooperative on January 12, 2017 officially powered on its 1.37 megawatt community solar installation in New Market, Tennessee. It was the first utility-scale community solar project in the state. Appalachian Electric Cooperative broke ground in 2016 on the solar array. In conjunction with the project AEC and ARiES designed and launched a Co-op Community Solar  initiative to allow cooperative members to subscribe to the clean energy produced. More than 200 of the cooperative’s members had already subscribed by the time the array went live.
